About Simon Mossman

A 16-year career in the British and Australian news media informs and characterises Simon's professional and personal photographic work.

Always the observer, his award-winning style is primarily one of a documentary nature, though his own creative vision brings an extraordinary quality to the ordinary and everyday.

Simon began his journalism career writing for his local newspaper in Wallasey, England, before moving to Bristol-based press agency South West News Service and later Channel One Television, where he worked as a video journalist writing, filming, editing and producing his own news stories.

Following that, he spent a year working at ITN and Sky News in London before travelling around the world, eventually landing in Sydney, where he went on to cover the 2000 Olympic Games for Reuters Television.

Now based in Melbourne, Simon currently works as a photojournalist and commercial photographer and counts Philips Electronics Australia, Hewlett Packard, Commonwealth Bank, the City of Sydney, PPR and Glendinning Management Consultants among his clients, in addition to numerous individual and private commissions and weddings.

He has won international recognition at the Black and White Spiders Awards and The Color Awards and has also been part of several photographic exhibitions. Simon is also a member of the Australian Commercial and Media Photographers (ACMP).
